- <p> DIED. ROBERT GARY WOOLF, 65, agent; of a heart attack; on a
- boat off Fisher Island, Florida. In 1965 a Red Sox pitcher asked
- Bob Woolf, then a young lawyer, to handle such off-field activities
- as product endorsements. With that start, Woolf became one of
- the first and best agents for athletes. His clients included
- such legends as Carl Yastrzemski, Larry Bird, John Havlicek,
- Julius Erving and Thurman Munson.
